The contest, named after the late Sheikh Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, was launched seven years ago, with blessing and support of the Prime Minister, Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, who spared no effort for developing the award, aimed at encouraging journalism excellence in Kuwait, creating competitive spirit among the journalists and promoting their skills to the level of international standards.
